    H&S has an immediate opportunity to join our lifestyle and fashion team in the New York office, a group working across several different accessory and retail brands. This is an exciting growth opportunity for a driven, self-starter with strong media relations skills, a deep understanding of influencer marketing, a fluency in the social and digital landscape, a passion for inspiring culture, and excellent communication and organization skills.

    About the Job

    • Create and oversee strategies and PR planning for all aspects of client work including seasonal collections, store openings, campaign launches, new product introductions and business/trade news. Identify and facilitate creative and press-worthy platforms of visibility, including strategic partnership or sponsorships.
    • Lead and manage multiple accounts across the fashion, lifestyle and event divisions; focus on driving efficiency, mentoring junior team, setting client expectations and defining SOW.
    • Integrated marketing experience, comfortable speaking to/working across all marketing channels (e.g. PR, events, advertising, celebrity, social media, trade, etc.) to develop and sell in “big ideas”.
    • Communicate clear direction to junior staff. Provide direction to junior level team members including delegation, delivering feedback, and project management
    • Provide strategic guidance to clients on an ongoing basis; anticipate and address clients’ needs. Act as primary contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource
    • Develop and execute feature stories as well as product placement opportunities in a variety of print, broadcast and digital outlets
    • Work with top-tier media (fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, business, trade) including proactive pitching and relationship management
    • Develop relationships with digital influencers and bloggers and oversee the implementation of paid and earned programs.
    • Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight and counsel to clients
    • Stay abreast of trends and client competition
    • Manage account financials including client budget allocation, team billability and account profitability; identify opportunities to build incremental business; advise on agency staffing to increase team performance
    • Work with the Senior Leadership Team and clients to define brand strategies and road maps
    • Partner with the new business development team to provide support for proposals and pitches
    • Display and encourage creativity and innovation in self and others. Actively participate in brainstorms, connect with creative resources, inspire and motivate team members.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
    • 7+ plus years of experience in a public relations agency or similar position in a non-agency setting
    • 2+ years in a managerial role
    • Demonstrated full range of communications knowledge and network of relationships to achieve clients’ business goals
    • Solid media relations experience, with extensive network of contacts within the fashion and lifestyle space
    • Previous experience working with social influencers, bloggers and celebrities on programming initiatives
    • Comfort and familiarity in social and online media a must
    • Vested interest in the cultural conversation, including trends, influencers and the media landscape
    • Excellent writing and presentation (both written and verbal) skills and a strong work ethic
    • Ability to spot digital trends and insights and share with teams in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
    • Ability to create and present program recommendations and sell into clients when appropriate
    • Ability to work across multiple offices on a multifaceted team
    • Experience interfacing with senior level client contacts
