H&S has an immediate opportunity to join our fashion team in the New York office, a group working across
several different accessory and retail brands. This is an exciting growth opportunity for a driven, self-starter with strong media relations skills, a deep understanding of influencer marketing, a fluency in the social and digital landscape, a passion for inspiring culture, and excellent communication and organization skills.

About the Job

  • Act as primary contact to clients, continually fostering client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource
  • Manage 3-4 accounts on average, overseeing day-to-day activities of Account Executive, Account Coordinator and Intern
  • Develop programs and collaborate effectively with teams
  • Develop and execute feature stories as well as product placement opportunities in a variety of print, broadcast and digital outlets
  • Work with top-tier media (fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, business, trade) including proactive pitching and relationship management
  • Develop relationships with digital influencers and bloggers and oversee the implementation of paid and earned programs
  • Use metrics and analytics to build business case, provide insight and counsel to clients
  • Actively participate in seeking new business opportunities, the media pitching process, and networking
  • Stay abreast of trends and client competition
  • Display and encourage creativity and innovation in self and others. Actively participate in and organize brainstorms, connect with creative resources, inspire and motivate team members.
  • Communicate clear direction to junior staff. Provide direction to junior level team members including delegation, delivering feedback, and project management
  • Drive effective implementation of projects, identify appropriate resources, and delegate work appropriately. Manage clients, people, and projects, deliver highest quality work on time and on budget, and provide timely progress reports.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients, anticipate needs and issues, troubleshoot problems.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing or a related field
  • Four plus years of experience in a public relations agency or similar position in a non-agency setting
  • Demonstrated full range of communications knowledge and network of relationships to achieve clients’ business goals
  • Solid media relations experience, with extensive network of contacts within the fashion and lifestyle space
  • Previous experience working with social influencers, bloggers and celebrities on programming initiatives
  • Comfort and familiarity in social and online media a must
  • Vested interest in the cultural conversation, including trends, influencers and the media landscape
  • Excellent writing and presentation (both written and verbal) skills and a strong work ethic
  • Ability to spot digital trends and insights and share with teams in order to mobilize, develop, and motivate
  • Ability to create and present program recommendations and sell into clients when appropriate
  • Ability to work across multiple offices on a multifaceted team
  • Experience interfacing with senior level client contacts
